Uranium glass elephant by Antonio da Ros for Cenedese
One of the most highly revered glass makers of the 20th century, Antonio da Ros was the principal designer for Cenedese on the island of Murano. His name, and his pieces, is synonymous with the best the island has produced over many years.
This uranium glass elephant is instantly recognisable as one of his pieces, and is the larger of the 2 elephants produced. The blue colour to the upper section of the piece is a beautiful contrast to the uranium base, and is less common than other finishes.
